Let’s face it, Sciatica Pain sucks. There’s probably a better way to say this that would make me look more intelligent and professional, but I don’t think that it would best describe Sciatica Pain. I could tell you that it is highly unpleasant and blah, blah, blah. None of that would change the fact that Sciatica Pain is horrible and something no-one wants to go through! The pain can be managed though and that’s what I’m here for, to convince you to let me & my staff massage away your sciatica pain.
Sciatica is a painful condition caused when the spinal nerve roots become compressed or irritated. The pain is typically located in various parts of the leg and foot as well as the lower back and butt (I should say buttocks here but I already opened with “Sciatica Pain sucks” so, you know, why bother?). The pain is typically manageable and people can live a relatively normal life with the pain, well, as normal as walking around with pain everyday can be. However, depending on the severity of the sciatica and the root cause, this can be debilitating.
The most common cause of sciatica is Lumbar Nerve compression, or even compression of the sciatic nerve itself. If you’ve ever suffered any sort of back injury, especially anything involving the discs, you may be experiencing sciatica. Even if you’re not currently experiencing sciatic pain, you could still be vulnerable to it later.
If the sciatica is cause by disc herniation or compression, it will typically resolve itself as the discs realign themselves. However, waiting for this to happen can be extremely painful. In the meantime, there are measures that can be taken to help alleviate some of the pain.
That’s where I come in, I’ve been a practicing chiropractor since 2001. I have years of experience dealing with sciatica and helping people manage the pain associated with their sciatica.
At Andersen Chiropractic, we can use a variety of techniques to get rid of sciatica pain. The most effective of the techniques we utilize is also one of the most simple: massage. By massaging the muscles near the sciatic nerves, you can help release the tension in the muscles that are compressing the sciatic nerve. As I talked about earlier, this is the root cause of sciatica. By relieving the compression on that nerve, it will also relieve the pain caused by sciatica.
